You can now renew most passports by mail

All other applications must be lodged in person - by appointment only - at the Australian Embassy in Copenhagen (below) or at an Embassy Outreach Visit to Norway or Iceland.
Adult renewal (PC7 form) - by mail
Eligibility
For an adult renewal, you must be 18 years and over and you will need a passport that:
-
was issued when you were aged 16 or older
-
was issued on or after 1 January 2006
-
had, when it was issued, at least two years’ validity
-
has your current name, date of birth, place of birth and gender, and
-
has not been reported lost, stolen, or cancelled.
If you meet all of the above criteria, you can renew your passport by mail.
Child renewal, aged 15 or younger (PC8 form) - by mail
Eligibility:
-
aged 15 or younger, and
-
have previously held an Australian passport.
If you meet all of the above criteria, you can renew your passport by mail.
(NB: Children aged 16-17 must lodge their application in person, with at least one parent/guardian - see "All other applications" below)
All other applications (PC7 & PC8 & Emergency passport) - in person
All other applications must be lodged in person - by appointment only - at the Australian Embassy in Copenhagen or at an Embassy Outreach Visit to Norway or Iceland. Renewal applications can also be lodged in person if preferred.
Outreach Visit - Norway & Iceland
- Embassy staff plan to visit Norway twice a year and Iceland once a year to conduct in-person passport interviews and provide notarial services
- our last visit to Norway was in November 2024, with the next visit planned for April 2025
- our last visit to Iceland was in January 2025, with the next visit planned for the first half of 2026
