ANZAC DAY 2018
Dawn service at Kastellet
followed by a gunfire breakfast
Wednesday 25 April at 05:30
by the Monument of the Allied Fallen Soldier
The Australian Embassy in Copenhagen is once again arranging ANZAC Day in the centenary period of the First World War.
We invite all Australian and New Zealand citizens as well as our Danish friends to join us in commemorating ANZAC Day which is the principal day of remembrance for those who sacrificed their lives in the Gallipoli campaign and in subsequent military conflicts, and for honouring our servicemen and women.
In Denmark we will gather on 25 April at the Monument of the Allied Fallen Soldier at the southern entrance to Kastellet, for a Dawn Service followed by a wreath laying ceremony and a gunfire breakfast. The Dawn Service commendes at 5.30am and will end around 6.30am with breakfast served until 7.30am.
Register your attendance - required
To attend, please register through our event page no later than 20 April - and make sure to include any guests.
For security reason, access without registration cannot be permitted and once you are registered your name may be disclosed to the Danish authorities responsible for providing security.
For security reasons, do not bring large bags or backpacks with you.
We advise guests to use public transportation on the day, as parking in the area is very limited. There will be a short walk from the Dawn Service site to the breakfast area over cobblestone. If you have significant mobility issues we advise you to bring a carer with you and notify the Embassy via our general enquiries e-mail on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please plan to arrive no later than 5.20 am as the Dawn Service will start at 5.30am sharp.
We look forward to seeing you on 25 April
